1. Should I send a lady some money when she asks about it or I should not?

Some important information you need to know when you start serious correspondence with a lady.

Nowadays the situation in the Internet has changed and we try to follow it. It's not enough to just provide both gentlemen and ladies with our services, but stay away from the communication itself. It's very important for us that our clients are satisfied with the services they get, so we try our best not only to provide them with our help, but also be more personal and close. That is why here we dare to give you some pieces of advice. If you have free time, please have a look at this page and after reading it you may decide if this information is useful for you or not.

It's already known by now that some women use men for scam by different means, whether they write themselves or through some agency, it happens pretty often. We try to follow the situation and check the ladies, who come to our agency, but sometimes it's just impossible to understand and see real intentions and of course we can't watch a lady 24 hours. But when/if we get any complain from our clients we try to investigate the situation as fast as possible and if we know for sure that a girl is a scammer we remove her from our database.

Please be careful when a lady starts to ask you for money in a letter or during the personal meeting. Of course it doesn't mean that she is 100% a scammer, but it can be a sign for you and we just would like to pay your attention to it. We can't check all the ladies and what they say, but we can at least warn you now and you can make your own conclusions. If a lady really needs your help or you know that her situation is difficult and want to help her somehow you can always find ways to do it with our help. You can always ask us for advice or for help in the situation and we will be glad to do it and find the solution together.

2. Why is it better to send an email than a regular letter?

You should mind that the things in Ukraine or other former soviet countries not always work the same way as they work in other European countries or the usa. First of all for a letter to get to Ukraine it takes very much time, about 2 or 3 weeks at least. Imagine if you write to your lady this way, then she sends you her reply, so you are only able to exchange one letter and it takes you the whole month, it's very easy to lose your interest this way and surely it won't be very helpful in the process of getting to know each other better. Moreover, unfortunately our post-office functions not the best and things are often missing. If you send her a letter and she doesn't receive it you just waste your time and may lose the contact. If you still would like to write her a regular letter, it's much saver to make it a registered letter, this way it won't miss, though it costs a little more and may need a little more time too.

3. Why things not always work out when I meet a lady through the Internet?

Of course it's life and things can't always work out and nobody can guarantee you that, but you can do your best to make them work out and there are really ways how you can make your chances really high.

Be realistic and try not to pick ladies no more than 10 years age difference. It might look very nice to have a young girl-friend or wife and it can be very flattering, but what can you see if you look 10 years from now, for example? Do you think that she will still stay with you and won't try to find somebody younger? It's very possible; the same can be said about a very pretty lady. Actually it's better to write to some ladies to know them better and only then to stop your choice at the lady you like the most, maybe after meeting all of them in real life.

Even if first time things don't work out between us, don't give up, try and try and try. You just need to look deeper, there maybe some lonely lady that is waiting for you, there can be a lady for everybody, just don't look at first few pages and stop, your lady may be waiting for you on the last page.

4. Why do you need to use the help of a translator or a marriage agency?

You saw a very nice picture of smiling pretty lady on the internet you looked through her profile that is written in English and you liked everything about her so far and you wanted to write her a letter to get to know her better and maybe start an interesting correspondence. It's really great, it seems you've finally found what you are looking for, but…don't forget to look in her profile and read if she can't speak your language or not. You may not think about it at first seeing the pretty picture, but it's the thing you should definitely take into consideration. Mind the language difference and think that you will have to manage it somehow. After careful thinking of you still feel very interested in her and want to write to her, think that you will need the help of the translator to translate your letters to her and her letters to you, to make your communication possible. Even though you really have to mind the language difference, if you really like the lady and she likes you it's not too complicated to learn English and start taking the classes, there is always a way out.

5. Why do you have to pay for ladies' letters?

First of all if you have to pay something for a letter it means that a letter goes through the agency and somebody needs to translate it. Also in some agencies both can pay for letters - men and women, but please keep in mind the fact that the economy situation in former USSR countries is difficult and people don't earn much (unless it's a capital or some really big city), and people earn around 70 dollars per month or even less. A lady may really want to write you back, but is not able to pay for letters and this way you may certainly reduce the number of replies.

6. What are the basic requirements for a fiancee visa?

On the date that the petition is signed, you must be a citizen of the United States who is free to marry the alien fiancee, who must also be free to marry you. You must also have had an in-person meeting with your fiancee within the previous two years unless you can qualify for the very restrictive waiver of the meeting requirement. Your fiancee must also not be inadmissible to come to the United States and the consulate abroad must be convinced that a marriage is likely to occur. You must also show that your fiancee is not likely to receive public relief if allowed to enter the United States.

7. If we do a fiancee visa and it does not work out, are we both eligible to start the process over with someone else?

Generally, the answer is yes. So long as the two of you have honored your promise to the United States, a subsequent application will be granted. If your fiancee leaves the United States on time, then she honored her commitment. However, Congress did entertain some legislation this year to limit fiancee visa filings and the consulates have! grown more strict in their review on those cases where there have been multiple prior filings involving either parties.

8. Can I extend the fiancee visa?

No- the fiancee visa is a single entry visa that can neither be extended nor transferred to another category. Your fiancee would have to return home and you would have to file for another petition and wait for the new visa to be approved some months later to allow for a new 90 day period of stay. Keep in mind that a subsequent visa need not be granted unless the consulate feels that a marriage is likely to occur the second time.

9. Can we leave the country during the fiancee visa period, or after we are married?

A fiancee visa is a single entry visa. Your fiancee can always leave the United States but will be unable to return unless she has prior permission from the government in the form of a parole document. Paroles are only granted for a pe! riod not to exceed the initial term of the visa and only for emergency purposes. That means a honeymoon is not an acceptable reason for a parole. After marriage, we routinely apply for a parole as part of an adjustment of status filing to allow for foreign travel while the new spouse is waiting for her grant of permanent residency.

10. Can she work when she comes over?

Fiancee entrants are allowed 90 days of work authorization that corresponds to their period of lawful stay. Work authorization is again authorized after marriage when the application for adjustment of status is pending. We routinely file this application when we file an adjustment of status case.

11. What affect do children have on the process?

Children are permitted to enter the United States as dependents on your fiancee’s application. Some countries require the prior permission of a noncustodial parent to allow the child to leave the country. The fiancee process is not affected by her children because the visa application is only for the mother with the children benefiting from the mother’s application. However, there are additional requirements when the child is older than 16.

12. Why not just get married over there?

I feel that the question should be why would you marry over there? You really do not know the person that well to begin with and if she enters as your spouse, she is in a higher category. She may not have to leave the United States or even stay with you. If you have married and later found that you made a mistake, you will have to divorce.

Under the fiancee category, both of you get 90 days to decide if marriage is the right thing. Keep in mind, it is her decision as well as yours. Your fiancee may not marry someone else while here in the United States on your fiancee visa and remain. I estimate that about two out of three fiancees actually marry in the 90 days. If you marry overseas and are in the 1/3 that don’t work out, you have set yourself up for a lot of trouble and expense.

13. How long does the process take from start to finish?

Processing times are determined by which region of the country that you live in and what country your fiancee is a citizen of or is currenlty lawfully residing in. The process is also affected by geopolitical activity. Currently, real-time processing times can run from a low of about 4 months to a high of about 11 months.

On the low-side example, I am using a Vermont case to Bangkok, Thailand and on the high-side example, I am using a Texas case to either Manila, Philippines or Guangzhou, China. However, processing times are skewed higher due to current instability in the new Dept of Homeland Security, the recent admission of thousands of refugees, and bugs in the security check process.

When and if things return to normalcy, I expect processing times to drop to a range of about 10 weeks on the low end and 7 months on the high end in the next few months.

14. How about tourist visas instead of fiancee visas?

A fiancee visa is the only legal method for a woman who intends to marry to enter the US. A woman who enters as a tourist intending to marry is committing fraudulent entry and is subject to removal if detected. In addition, most foreign nationals, especially those from Eastern Europe and most of Asia, can’t qualify on their own for a tourist visa.

A tourist visa is a non-immigrant visa to allow for a temporary short-term visit to the US. An applicant must show three things to receive a favorable decision from the consulate for a tourist visa. These are — that the applicant is not likely to be an intending immigrant, that the applicant is not likely to violate her status in any way, and that the applicant! has ample resources to pay for a stay in the US.

Consulates use profiles of other applicants similar to the current case they are reviewing. They keep track of the numbers of visa violators and marriages that have come from that post in the past. Single and attractive are two negatives. Prior international travel to Western Europe is a positive as it requires a visa that is not easy to get. Invitation letters and support letters from single men are negatives. An excellent and high paying job in her country is a positive. A married woman leaving her husband and children behind is a positive.

A good example is the consulate in Kiev — this post rejects about 85% of the tourist visa applications. And Tokyo on the other extreme-the post sees very few applicants since the Japanese all go home on schedule and so are allowed to enter the United States without a visa under the visa waiver program.

15. What are the advantages of using a qualified attorney in the fiancee process?

This is a legal process that people are involved in. The right time to see an attorney is when you start the process — not when your case is lost or gummed up in the process. The visa process is constantly changing.

We are continuously following up on the changes as they are implemented. We have done hundreds of cases and know exactly what is acceptable and what is not. In addition, the service centers recognize our casework and know exactly what we include in our filings. This results in minimal processing delay for the client. We also know when the service center is in error and when the appropriate time is to query.

The best example I can give is a request for evidence from the service center. That usually means that you forgot something or did not have the right papers in your filing. The request for evidence starts your processing time over again from day one. We do not get very many of those because we recognize the issues before the case is filed. A request for evidence will make your fiancee very, very unhappy

when you have a toothache you go see a dentist;
when you have a crimminal case, you go to a crimminal lawyer;
when you have an immigration case, you see an immigration attorney.

16. The lady I write to asked me to send her some money. What should I do?

If you correspond with a lady and suddenly in her letter she asks you to send her some money (because she has problems at work, with health, with an apartment she rents, with her cat or dog, etc) we highly recommend you not to do it. It's already a well know fact that some women use men for scam by different means and one of them is money request (usually a lady asks to send money on her name). They are not interested in you, but they just take you as a source of getting money, so please don't get into this trap.

If something like that happens to you, please inform us about the money request and send us a copy of the letter where she asked you about financial help. We will investigate the case and will take proper measures as soon as possible.
