Crimea is the first choice among seafarers and beach bunnies alike, overall, the number one summer destination for sun worshippers of all ages from all over the region and beyond. One can swim in the sea and bask in the warm rays of the sun from May through October. Most Crimean beaches are pebbly. Strange as it may seem, these tiny round stones are held in high regard by Crimean's. For they say, it's not only safe to walk on them, but also very good for your health. If this way of strengthening your health is not for you or your feet, there are plenty of sandy spots to found here. The Crimean sea is clean and clear and the ability to view pods of Black Sea dolphins frolicking in the surf help prove this fact! However, what makes Crimea stand a league apart from other seaside resorts is its' clean crisp air. Saturated with sea salt mixed with the aromas of both nearby coniferous forests and mountain motley grass, the air reinvigorates the visitor! While you are resting, it is treating you and making you healthy. One can also pick from among a variety of places to rest according to their own liking and budget. Hotels, recreation centers and sanatoriums are at your service. Recently a lot of new guesthouses and stylized cottages have popped up along the coast, which are aimed at a small number of tourists and the quality of their services can compete with that of big hotels. In addition, it is probably only in Crimea that you will be offered a room in an actual royal palace. Such resorts as Yalta, Aloushta, Gurzoof, Foros, Yevpatoria all welcome you.
You can combine rest on the beach with mountain hikes and day trips that are invigorating not exhausting! To catch a bird's eye view of the coast you can arrange for an air journey or climb Ai-Petri by cablecar. It has a view all the way down the coast. Your guide will show you Mount Medved (Mount Bear) and Mount Koshka (Mount Cat). Though it is not so easy to guess the features of the animals in them, but local people claim there are striking resemblances. By the way, most Crimean mountains have such special names as Mount Sokol (Mount Falcon), Mystery Rock and the Head of the Russian Empress Catherine the Great. But if you want to get into the realm of fairy-tale characters, you should go to the old volcano Karadag or Ghost Valley on the flanks of Demergi. You are also recommended to get acquainted with Crimean caves. The Marmurova Cave stands out among Crimean caves in terms of beauty and accomplishment. Crimean resorts offer entertainment to suit all tastes. There are various facilities for water entertainment on the beach, but on warm evenings the various clubs and discos will keep you from getting bored. During the summer Crimea is also a place for numerous festivals, contests and sports competitions. It is interesting to witness the international festival "Genoese Helmet" during which the days of old come to life: there are knights and monks, beautiful ladies and pages, legionaries and merchants. In mid August there is also an exotic festival of fireworks in Yalta. During the summer a couple of sailing regattas start in Crimea. They are usually held in Yalta and Feodossia. And to fully enjoy the city of Sevastopol in all of its beauty, once a closed city, it's best to visit at the end of July or beginning of August when the city celebrates Navy Day.

"Sunshine", the biggest oasis of entertainment in Ukraine, welcomes you to the seaside between the towns of Saky and Yevpatoria. The program of its parties and festivals offers music for different tastes. Besides a modern dance floor, professional sound and illumination systems, the complex has a great sandy beach, water attractions, diving center and playgrounds for volleyball, aqua ball, football and paintball. There are bars and cafes serving dishes of Karaite, Ukrainian and Chinese cuisines.
Aqua Park has attractions for children and adults. There are hills with swimming pools for family sliding and a big entertaining swimming pool. The swimming pools are equipped with geysers, water shields and cascades. An aqua disco whose dance floor is equipped with fountains starts operating in the evening.
For lovers of dolphins, the "Dolphinarium" is must-see for everyone. The locals have long believed that these friendly mammals bring good luck! Even if you don't believe it, communicating with these intelligent creatures will warm your heart. That is because the students at the "Dolphinarium" will impress you with their talents, wonders of plasticity and acrobatics. Those who like excitement can swim with a dolphin in the swimming pool, in an open-air cage or have an underwater trip in such a good company. By the way, according to doctors communicating with dolphins can strengthen the nervous system and there are even some special techniques for treating nervous disorders. To make it a memorable experience one can even receive a photograph with the dolphins. On the coast, one can rent a boat or yacht and if you're lucky, see dolphins in their natural habitat.
Even though the average visitor may see the Crimea as a place of beaches, walks and historical monuments, winemakers see Crimea as a land where unique sorts of wine are made. Wine making in the Crimea is a coeval of Hellene settlements. Look inside one of the numerous tasting rooms and visit Magarach wine making institute or the wine cellars of Masandra. The biggest collection of real wine is assembled there. The real pride of the collection is the unique "Cherry de la Frontera" 1775 vintage. In 2001 at Sotheby's auction house the price for this wine topped 50 thousand dollars per bottle. Masandra wines have garnered about a 150 awards at international exhibitions and wine tasting. A masterpiece of wine making is the White Muscatel of the Red Rock with its' aroma of Muscat, honey overtones of flowers, grasses from Alpine meadows, tea-rose and orange peel. The most expensive wine you can buy in Masandra today is white Muscat Livadia 1905 vintage. It costs more than 700 dollars, but wine experts claim it's well worth it. A sparkling wine, "Novy Svit" holds its' own with similar wines from this historic land. Unique wines like "Archaderesse" and "Black Doctor" made by "Sonyachna Dolyna" ("Sunny Valley") are also considered legends of wine making. Those brands of wine are made of a vintage that is more than two millennia old. Inkerman vintage winery located on the lands of ancient Chersonese is famous for its table wines. Tasting Crimean wines is a trip into history, a variety of aromas and tastes.
