My stay was very well organized. And also i didnt had to worry about anyhting. I felt comfortable and at ease. I didnt worry about anything cause of the wonderful assistance and guidance of Karina. She is wonderful and in my opinion the best. Next time with a trip when beautyabroad comes to holland or I come to ukraine, i definitly will ask for Karina for guide. She is wonderful and very kind, very professional and speak english perfectly, much better then I do. I thank her very much for everything and I believe she deserves a bonus ;).
I am happy with how everything went. And am pleased with all the service of BA.com. My thanks and warm wishes to BA team and especially to Karina. I wish her strength in these hard times for her, cause of her relative that past away.

Arrival to Yalta. Accomodation. Excursion around the city. Ai-Petri mountain and Vorontsov palace
Ai-Petri have become an original symbol of the Great Yalta. It attracts attention of tourists all year around. It is 1234 meters above the sea level. On Ai-Petri you can find the weather station ( 1895), as well as restaurants and attractions for tourists.
Plateau of Ai-Petri is the model of karst and more than 230 underground caves are researched till nowadays. From the special grounds the wonderful panorama of the Great Yalta opens. Ai-Petri is the original monument to the nature. You can reach the summit by cableway, it takes only 20 minutes, the length is 3 km. The Palace of Vorontsov was built between 1828 and 1846 in Alupka as a triumph of the architectural imagination. The south face of the palace looks out across the Black Sea towards Turkey, and combines Russian and Moorish elements into a uniquely elegant building standing out against the backdrop of the Ai-Petri Mountain. The north side could easily be mistaken for a Scottish castle in the gothic tradition. The palace's luxuriant interior is open to the public - highlights include the Tudor-style dining-hall complete with minstrels' gallery, and many fine paintings. Massandra Palace+Uchan-su waterfall+Nikita Botanic Gardens
Massandra Palace was built for Russian Emperor Alexander the III. After October Revolution Soviet Government used this palace as a summer residence for the head of Government Iosiff Stalin and as a place of conferences for heads of governments of foreign countries.
Now the Massandra Palace is a historical and art museum, where you can see a beautiful interior, painting and woodwork. The Massandra palace is surrounded with small, but lovely gardens. It is a masterpiece of landscape architecture.
Uchan-su waterfall is the highest ( 98,5m ) in Ukraine and the most spectacular. It is especially beautiful when the snow is melting. Uchan-su is situated in 4km from Yalta. Three more small-sized waterfalls locate below.
Nikita Botanical Gardens were founded in 1812 by the botanist Christian Steven. The live collections number 28, 000 species, varieties, and forms of arborous plants, roses, chrysanthemums, cannas, cacti and succulents, peaches, nectarines and cherry plumps, almonds, subtropical crops. The tour covers 1,7 kilometers and lasts 1.5 hours. Optional include -a cactus greenhouse, bonsai exhibition, fruit tasting, visiting a plant shop. |

Livadia Palace+Massandra Wine Cellars
The Livadia Palace -the summer home of the last Russian Tsars, Nikolai II, and home to the Yalta Conference, where Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin met to re-drow the map of Europe and the end of the Second World Was. It represents the history of the last 150 years. The palace buildings and extensive gardens overlooking the sea and the bay of Yalta reflect the influence of the original architect Ippolito Monighetti, who was sent to Livadia from Moscow after estate, was bought for Tsar Alexander II in 1861
The Massandra Wine Cellars collection is the largest in the world. The oldest wines are dated back to 1775. Its construction began in 1894. Massandra contains over 250,000 decalitres of wine in wooden caskets as well as 1,000,000 bottles. The architect, A.I. Ditrikh, was one of the most prominent in Russia. The large and unique construction is called the Head Winary of the Massandra Union. In 2002, it has celebrated its 105th anniversary. The Massandra Union produces ecologically pure grape wines of different types: table wines, sweet wines and strong wines. The White Muscat of the Red Stone has been selected as the best wine in the world at two international wine exhibitions. |

The Valley of Ghost + Dzur-Dzur Waterfall
The Valley of Ghost is of the most beautiful spots of the Southern coast. Mountain Demerdzhi is situated in Alushta valley. In the old times it was named Funa, same as the fortress located on the western slope of the mountain. Passing the Medieval fortress you get to the Valley of Ghosts, it strikes your imagination by the whimsical landscape of figure of weathering -recalling fantastic monsters, birds and animals, magic castles and towers. The excursion acquaints with the mountainous Crimea, its nature and history, and the stone fairy take of Demerdzhi. Dzur-Dzur waterfall- one the famous Crimean places to visit.
It is more than 400 m high above the sea level. The river Ulu-Uzen creats a deep gorge Khapkhal. Water falls from the height of 15 meters is overthrowing by wide stream into the deep hollow. It is the most powerful waterfall in Crimea. You can hear the noise of water from far away. The upper river consists of the whole series of the picturesque cascades and stages. The old deciduous forest is in harmony with the site of majestic rocks. |

Balaklava Harbour, Chersonesus, Sevastopol -full day tour.
2500 y.o. Balaklava is located on both sides of curved bay. You find there ruins of Genova's fortress built in XV century, during the Crimean War it was a base of British army. It's only 15 minites by car to historic Sevastopol and the Sapoun Heights, where Lord Raglan gave the order that led to the Charge of the Light Brigade.
Balaklava was one of the most secret and closed points of Crimea during Soviet time being a base for submarines. Still you can find there a big tunnel with access from the Black Sea, before it was a submarine repair factory inside of the mountain.
Sevastopol is a big tourist center. It is hard to be estimated during one tour...It is an excellent resort having great combination of climatic factors, the city of monuments and exotic features as well. For years it's been closed to foreigners, as for some of Ukrainians who didn't have a good reason for coming. Sevastopol was the home of the Soviet Black Sea Fleet. Since 1997 the city is open for visitors.
Chersonesus, the archeological reserve is one of the most significant centers of ancient culture in Ukraine. It's been built in 422-421BC by Greek colonists. In the 3rd cent. BC it was one of the largest states, the slaveholding republic. The unique monuments of the 4th cent. BC are introduced in the exposition.

Return to Sempheropol + visit to Bahchisaray Palace
Bahchisaray was created in XVI century represents all Oriental splendors. It is not only a unique example of Crimean Tatar architecture, but a testament to a strong and enduring community. Some of the rooms have been make to look' lived-in' in Tatar style.
Burned down during Russian-Turkish war and now it is updated and reconstructed. Nevertheless it still remains the first and the unique residence of the Crimean Khans. It's present territory spreads for 4,3 hectares, being much larger earlier.
You're welcome to have a look at Uspensky Cave Monastery, was founded in the XVth cent. in caves in the limestone of a spectacular valley leading to the ancient 'cave city of Chufut-Kaleh'
It is said that and icon Mary illuminated by a candle appeared high on the cliffs. The local prince ordered the icon to be carefully moved to his palace, but in the morning the icon had returned to its position on the cliff. Return to Kiev by train. |
